E31: Beau Bolfing

This entry is part of 55 in the series Quayde Things Podcast
Quayde and Beau Bolfing are checking in from outside of Magnolia Motor Lounge to reminisce on old times. Beau is currently the lead guitar player for Sam Riggs; you may also know him from his time with Dalton Domino and the Front Porch Family Band. They talk about some crazy Fort Worth and JAB Fest green room shenanigans in their younger days of rock and roll. We find out that Beau’s cousin is Jesse Fritz, longtime bass player for Stoney LaRue. Beau grew up going to Stoney shows, where he discovered his love for music. He gives us some cool insight on the symbiotic nature that a performer can have with the audience, and how doing the “three bubbles” challenge in Wyoming can cause you to end up surfing on the van. We also find out how surrounded Beau is by accountants…which helps because tax season is hard on musicians. So tune in and take in some wise words from Chris Allbright about being in the music scene: this is your talent, this is your art. Never do it for free.
